About
He who doesn’t read this is crazy, The Daily Nerd is becoming an institution.
… Nail, head.
http://dailynerd.nl/ is an excellent daily curation of (mostly) frontend articles. Love it.
What?
On this site I regularly post small comments to a selection of links. These links are mostly about front-end development, a term I use broadly. I consider many techniques and disciplines to be part of front-end development.
API
There is a dynamic read only API available; it’s powered by the JSON API WordPress Plugin and you can find the documentation right here (please be kind to my server, cache everything, the site is updated once a day at most). The Daily Nerd is published under a rather loose license so go ahead and make great stuff with it (a search function which returns accurate results would be nice, for instance, thanks in advance!)
Updates and things
You can stay up to date by following the Daily Nerd via e-mail, via RSS or via twitter. If you want to thank me you can do that on Twitter, you can simply link to this site, or, even better, you could buy an original Daily Nerd shirt.
Tools
I collect possibly interesting links using a combination of Twitter, Fever, IFTTT and Pinboard. I write my comments using Sublime Text 2, the best text editor out there and without the help of little tools like Alfred, Spark and Google Translate it wouldn’t exist. The Daily Nerd is published on the latest version of WordPress.
Who?
My name is Vasilis van Gemert and I am the principal front-end developer at Mirabeau (the leading full service internet agency in The Netherlands). In my spare time I write the Daily Nerd and I do some stuff for Fronteers, the non-profit trade organization of Dutch front-end developers. Needless to say probably, but I’ll do so anyway: the opinions on this site are my own opinions and are not the opinions of my employer.
Do you disagree with something I wrote? Is there a link I should mention? Let me know!
